What’s your personal connection to the neighbourhood?
I grew up in this neighbourhood and Kilmore is home. Over time, I have become part of the community, recognised familiar faces, learned about locals and built connections with newcomers as well. It is the kind of place where people know me and I know them, which makes it feel comfortable and welcoming.
What are some core values you live by?
I live by the idea that everything happens for a reason and that the things we experience can teach us something. Respect, honesty and integrity drive me in my career and shape the person I continue to become. I believe our values are a foundation for growth.
What’s something only locals know about this area?
Kilmore was established in 1837 and is Victoria’s oldest inland town. It was an important stopover for settlers and gold rush travellers, founded by William Rutledge and named after his Irish birthplace. Its history and bluestone architecture are part of what gives the town its character.
